Release Project

We long to see our church building reach it's full potential in Bristol.
Working with our conservation architect we have developed a scheme of repairs and developments which, we believe, over the next 10 years will allow this church building to flourish and remain relevant in an ever cityscape.

Barrel Roof Repairs

In 2022 the church is undergoing another large roofing project to repair damaged cause by a significant metal theft during the COVID-19 lockdown in April 2020.

In April 2020 during the first COVID-19 lockdown the church suffered it’s largest ever metal theft from the barrel roof of the church. Following consultation with the DAC, Historic England and Bristol City Council approval was given to re-cover the nave barrel roof in a tern-coated stainless steel. These works are largely insurance funded repairs will see the church restored to it’s pre-theft condition.

Nave & Chancel Roofs

Nave & Chancel Roofs

In the 1990’s the church suffered a series of lead thefts over the nave and chancel roofs. In 2018 with the generous support of the National Lottery - Heritage Lottery Fund, National Churches Trust, Allchurches Trust and The Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust we were able to complete a repair and maintenance project costing a total of £445,000 securing the future of the building for the years to come.

Flooring Project

Flooring Project

We hade known for many years that the layout of the main worship space in our church was holding the building back from reaching it's full potential not just as a space for worship but also for other events and community uses.

You can read about our new floor on our Flooring project page.
